Description

Students will be introduced to woodturning on a lathe and learn the intricacies of faceplate turning. Students will be taught the basics of tool sharpening and learn the process of turning a wooden bowl. Students will take the finished bowl home at the end of class. This class will provide lathe tool certification for Spark Makerspace Members who demonstrate safe usage of the tool. 

Ages 18+ 

This class takes place at Spark Makerspace at 7 Union Street, New London, CT.

MEMBERS—This is a certification class. Because of generous donations from the Frank Loomis Palmer Fund, the price of our certification classes has been greatly subsidized, making them more affordable to our membership.
